Add your business in the app, from the premises
There’s no sign-up form on this website. Businesses are added only in the Around Me app, because the app records your exact location while you’re standing at your business.
Be at your business when you start. Inside, or right at the entrance. If you add it from home, your pin will be at home — and you won’t be able to confirm it later.
Before you start
- A smartphone with location turned on (iPhone or Android)
- An email address you check — sign-in codes and reminders go there
- Your business name exactly as it appears on your signage
- Full address and postcode
- Phone number, and website if you have one
- Your opening hours for each day
Download Around Me and sign in
Tap My business, enter your email, and type the 6-digit code we send you. The code lasts 10 minutes.
Tap “Add a business” and allow location
The app asks for precise location. On iPhone choose Allow While Using App with Precise on; on Android choose Precise.
Capture your pin
Wait for the accuracy to reach 50 metres or better, then tap Use this location. If it won’t settle, step to the doorway. Location tips.
Choose a category and add details
Name, address, phone, website, description and opening hours. Choosing a category.
Publish
Tap Publish and your listing is live in search straight away. You’ll see it under My business.
Put the date in your diary
Your first confirmation is due 6 months after you add the listing. We’ll remind you, but it helps to know.
